Vela

Self-initiated concept product / engineering demonstration. Vela is not a bank, is not connected to any financial institution and moves no money. Every account, card, balance, payee and transaction in it is fictional demo data.

Vela is a personal-finance app. A swipeable account carousel leads into spending broken down by category, a searchable and filterable transaction history, virtual cards you can freeze and limit, savings goals you can top up, and a transfer flow with a keypad, a review step and a confirmation.

Money is handled the way people expect on a phone: a card carousel that snaps, a numeric keypad instead of a text field, a review step before anything is confirmed, and destructive or irreversible controls (freeze, limit) given weight and animation. Amounts are stored in minor units and formatted per currency, so no value is ever a rounded float.

Vela is written with React Native components rendered on the web through react-native-web and bundled with Vite — the same component API as a native build, running as a web-hosted mobile simulation rather than a compiled binary. State is a typed reducer persisted on the device; the charts are drawn from primitives rather than a charting library, so the scrub interaction is exact.
