Orvale

Self-initiated concept / engineering demonstration. Orvale is not a client project and not a commercial service — it is a standalone mobile product I designed and built to show what a polished consumer mobile app involves, end to end.

Orvale is an AI-assisted travel planner. Travellers discover destinations, search with type-ahead results, save places and experiences, generate a day-by-day itinerary from their dates, group, budget and style, explore it on a live map and book experiences in a short checkout flow.

Five-tab navigation with a separate stack per tab, so state survives tab switches. Pushed screens slide in with a parallax and can be dismissed with an edge swipe; full-screen flows hide the tab bar. Carousels, the onboarding pager, bottom sheets, swipe-to-remove and drag-to-reorder are all driven by touch, with press feedback and tap targets sized for thumbs.

React and TypeScript with a typed content layer, a reducer-based store persisted on the device, and a small navigation system (tab stacks, push/pop, interactive back) built for the product. Motion powers gestures and transitions; Leaflet renders the map with OpenStreetMap data. Light and dark themes, currency and interface language are user preferences. It ships as its own app, process and port, separate from this portfolio.

The planner in this demo is simulated: a deterministic, on-device planner composes itineraries from curated day templates, adjusting order, prices and pace for travel style, budget and group size. No language model is called, and the app labels generated plans as demo output. The interaction (inputs, planning state, editable result) is designed so a live model could be plugged in behind the same contract.

Designed phone-first at 390 × 844 and verified at 375, 430, 360 and 412px wide plus a 768px tablet, where layouts widen into multi-column grids and a floating tab bar. Presented here in original iPhone-style, Android-style and tablet shells; it is a mobile web app, not a compiled native binary.
